¡Qué Rico!
I created this logo for my father who's in the process of opening up a burger shack in Zumpango, Mexico. "¡Qué Rico!" is Spanish for "How Delicious" and is also a play off my father's name, Ricardo. Although we didn't have much growing up, my father always managed to cook up the greatest dishes. He always emphasized creativity, quality, and presentation which—with his love and support—influenced me as a graphic designer. The logo was created using Adobe Illustrator and animated in Adobe After Effects. I was very particular about having the layout of the logo be aligned with a structured grid which is revealed at the end of the short clip. A modified version of Gotham Bold and Bungee Regular were selected due to their simple typeface properties which makes them legible from afar. The warm color palette is meant to insinuate a fiery grill and a general summer vibe. My primary objective with the logo animation was attempting to convey the sensation of taking the first bite of a burger as the flavors spread throughout the taste buds.
