My name is Jorge and I'm a graphic designer from the San Francisco Bay Area. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communication from Cal Poly and continue to teach myself new skills to stay competitive. I have 7 years experience as a designer, collaborating with various marketing teams, printers, and local businesses. Throughout my career, I've acquired the skills and knowledge to create content that's aesthetically pleasing, practical, and serves a purpose.
I approach design systematically; first, by listening to the client's unique needs. Making note of the overall messaging, I pay close attention to specific elements the client requests to incorporate. After conversing over the design objectives, I reiterate key points to ensure we're on the same page. My expertise comes into play during the preliminary design phase. There, I build individual components and combine them through various iterations. Each design is reviewed to ensure it's on track with the agreed upon design objectives. Additionally, the designs are tested against established design principles to ensure they're appropriately presented. Proofs are then pitched to the client for review and the cycle continues until we achieve the design objectives. The final design assets are then optimized for web and print output. I keep a secure and organized archive of all the designs for future reference and new projects. Depending on urgency, projects can be executed quickly or take several weeks to complete. Ultimately, the goal is to satisfy the client by providing excellent service through timely communication, professional advice, and attention to detail.
In short, I have a strong passion for design. I owe much of my accomplishments to the teams and individuals with whom I've worked alongside throughout my career. These key figures have been vital in my development as a creative thinker and problem solver. I aspire to apply and further develop my abilities as I continue my career as a graphic designer.
